Holiday Grants
This holiday season, The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut will award small grants to area nonprofits that assist families in northwestern Connecticut with limited financial means. Preference will be given to applications that address basic human needs. To be considered for a holiday grant, complete the application (see link below) and return it to the Foundation by November 13, 2009. Although we strive to assist one organization from each community in our service area, the application process is competitive, which means that not all applicants will receive an award. Applicants will be notified by December 4 regarding application status.

Women's and Girls' Fund Grant Applications
The deadline for applications for 2008 grants from the Women's and Girls' Fund has now passed. Grants are awarded in early autumn of each year.
Nonprofit organizations from our 20-town service area may apply for grants from this Fund each summer. Please check the website in June of 2009 for details.
Edwards Community Endowment Project Applications
The ECEP is a matching grants program created to help northwest Connecticut nonprofits start up endowment funds or increase established ones. The project has been made possible through a grant from the
Marion Wm. and Alice Edwards Fund.

Youth Fund Grant Applications
The Youth Fund provides grants that are recommended by
junior philanthropists in our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). Each winter, the YAC sends out an
RFP (request for proposals) to organizations that serve youth in our
twenty-town service area. The YAC then presents one or more of
the submitted proposals for consideration by the Foundation’s board of
directors. In recent years, the YAC has
helped to award grants for mentoring programs, smoking-deterrent programs, and
programs supporting foster children. If you would like your
organization to be added to the mailing list to receive an annual application
for the YAC grants, please contact the Foundation at
